MozFest Premieres ‘Alfro Algorithms’ Animated Quick

On Wednesday, March 9 at 2 pm ET, Mozilla’s MozFest will host the world premiere of Afro Algorithmsa brief movie exploring how AI reinforces — and disrupts — techniques of oppression even in an AfroFuturist Utopia. The movie is written, directed, and produced by Anatola Araba, winner of the Mozilla Basis’s 2021 Artistic Media Award.

Afro Algorithms explores the subjects of AI and Bias via the story of Aero, the world’s first AI chief. Together with her restricted programming, Aero quickly realizes she has an entire host of lacking worldviews from her databank — most noticeably the tales of the traditionally marginalized and oppressed.

The 14-minute brief movie, written, directed, and produced by Araba, is ready in an Afro-futurist dystopia/ utopia just like Wakanda.
